They named it the black issue? I’m bothered by such a title
Why? You know how many fashion magazines post black models? Next to none. This entire issue had nothing but black models and it was only because it was Vogue Italia. No, not Vogue US, because they have to think about their sales quota - and the same thing goes for V Man. I have friends that have wanted to get jobs at male fashion magazines and they told them that they couldn’t publish covers with black male models. So my friends who come up with great editorials can’t choose their models because they’re black; they have to pick from a list of white models.
I’m not black, but I wouldn’t think anyone would be offended by this title. There should be more issues celebrating diversity and the fact that black models are always more neglected when it comes to fashion.
